Political Thugs Attack PDP Campaign Office In Zamfara

Political thugs last Friday morning attacked the campaign headquarters of Zamfara central senatorial flag bearer of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Hon. Ibrahim Shehu, setting it ablaze.
Five persons reportedly sustained injuries from the incident, while properties worth several millions of naira got destroyed, Leadership reports.
According to an eyewitness, Nura Abdullahi Tsafe, the political thugs stormed the campaign office at about 3 a.m. and began to throw stones at the building.

They forcefully found their way into the building, matcheting five people who are currently receiving treatment at Daula Hospital Gusau.
The thugs then proceeded to set the building ablaze.
Mallam Muktar Abubakar, one of the victims of the attack who spoke from his sick bed said: “the target was to see me dead.”
According to him, the thugs invaded the building without notice and started attacking anyone in sight.
Muktar, who bore multiple stitches on his head, therefore thanked God for saving his life.
Mallam Mohmed Umar, a youth leader of Youth Enlightenment Forum, who led his colleagues to visit the victims at the hospital pointed out that it is very inhuman to use the youths to achieve political gains.
The 2015 general elections will be holding in less than a month and the political parties and their candidates have been campaigning across the country.
Some of these political campaigns have being marred with violence. In Jos, Plateau State, the campaign buses of the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation were set ablaze. In Rivers, the All Progressives Congress (APC) office in Okrika was attacked with dynamites. In Gombe state, some PDP’s belongings were burnt down.
