Ten filling stations in Ondo State have been sealed by the
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, for failing to sell
petrol at the new pump price of N87.

The Ondo State Command of the NSCDC disclosed this in a statement by
the command spokesperson, Kayode Balogun, on January 22, 2015,
Thursday in Akure.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the spokesperson for the command said they were out to ensure strict compliance with the Federal Government’s directive on reduction of pump price of petrol from N97 to N87 per litre.
“Although some of the stations visited complied with the directive, others are still selling at the old pump price,” Mr. Balogun said. “Most filling stations that were sealed either refused to adjust their pumps when told to do so or ran away on sighting the enforcement team.” he added.
Many petrol stations around the country have been closed for failing to comply with the new N10 reduction in fuel price since it was announced by the Federal Government.
The Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke announced last week a reduction of the pump price of petrol from N97 to N87. The N10 reduction in fuel price which was necessitated by the reduction in crude oil prices in the international market.
