How Ekiti State Wants To Tighten Security Measures

Ekiti State Security Council reportedly has proposed to tighten security measures by checking strategic places across the state and banning the usage of tinted glass.
The council has held an emergency meeting in Ado Ekiti after two people were killed and five were abducted in the state in the last one week. It was learned that laws would soon be
enacted to deal with criminals and their accomplices.
The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ayodele Fayose, Mr Idowu Adelusi, in a statement made on Tuesday by the council, warned landlords and hoteliers to check what kind of people they offer accommodation.

He said security measures such as frequent hotel checks and ban of tinted glasses usage would be taken to protect lives and property. Reportedly, any hotel linked to criminals would be sealed.

Moreover, the council plans to destroy all plantations of cannabis and to prosecute every connected to the crime culprit.
The council also resolved that the state would not condone any invasion of foreign bodies or security threat before and after the May 29 hand over date.
According to the statement, the council appealed to religious leaders, traditional rulers, labour leaders and other stakeholders to continue to cooperate with the government and security personnel to provide adequate security in the state.
Speaking with the press, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Ebojune Ibine, assured people of improved security measures, saying that the kidnapped victims would soon be released.
