Why Damasak Kidnapping Happened

Disturbing news rocked Nigerian society that terror Boko Haram sect abducted more than 500 children from the town of Damasak, Borno state, rocked Nigerian society yesterday on March 24. But was it really possible to kidnap hundreds of the people in town surrounded by military?
Firstly it was reported that the troops from Chad and Niger had retaken the town, but there was not a single Nigerian soldier to be found.

Later Nigerian army said it recaptured Damasak town on March 16, 2015.
The independent journalist Ahmad Salkida took to the twitter to clear the air on what happened in Damasak.
He said that as a Nigerian, a reporter he has a duty to report ethically and credibly as possible.
“A trusted assessment of the insurgency in North East revealed that it is practically impossible for Boko Haram to abduct 500 people and 300 cattle and move them with the heightening of military action in the region,” Salkida said.

Boko Haram’s six-year terrorism came to global attention in April when the group abducted nearly 300 schoolgirls from a boarding school in Chibok town in northeastern Nigeria’s Borno state.
Almost one year passed but parents of the schoolgirls are still waiting their daughters home despite of the tens promises to rescue them by the government.
