President Jonathan’s visit to the Shehu of Maiduguri
Speaking at the rally held at Ramat Square, Jonathan assured the people of the state that his government would wipe out insurgency.
He said he shared the pain of the residents of the state which is the worst hit by insurgency. He led a minute’s silence in honour of victims of the insecurity in that part of the country. Jonathan said the abducted Chibok school girls would be rescued and that his government would do its best to make life worth living for the people.
Also speaking at the PDP rally in Borno, the minister of state for power, Alhaji Mohammed Wakil, said he believed that President Jonathan has demonstrated true love for Borno with his numerous initiatives aimed at developing the state.

He said:“We want to thank you for the marching orders given for the restoration of power in Borno after about seven months of blackout. “We also commend you for implementing developmental projects in the state in spite of the current security challenges.”
